Taken with my camera by the 小姨 on one of those usual weekend when we gathered at Park West for dinner, I fell in love with this shot when I saw it.
From my amateurish point of view, the composition and lighting are rather well done, though I am pretty sure the little aunt did not exactly had that in mind when she captured the moment. Rather, what speak to the heart are the subjects’ expression and body language — one of total contentment, sense of security and simple bliss. I especially like the way her little hands are clasped.
Whenever I recall my childhood days, images of my smiling and doting grandparents inevitably come to mind. Looking at my niece snuggling with my mother evoke a sense of wistful longing for my Gramps. If they are still around, they would only be in their late seventies.
She does not know a thing now but someday I am sure she will come to treasure this picture dearly.
